Monday

Here we are on day one of our work week. The playground group headed off right after breakfast clean up. The concrete was delivered to the wrong area on Sunday and they managed to move the 2 ½ tons to the correct area. Before lunch they had the first half of the bridge up and cemented in and the parts sorted and accounted for. Just prior to lunch there was a downpour so they quit for lunch. After lunch they managed to locate and dig the holes for the platform of the new treehouse. They were able to wait out a short storm. But when they were about to cement in the poles for the platform the second rainstorm rolled through. That was the end of their day.

The grotto group found the area fairly well prepared but the morning was spent knocking off the remainer of the loose cement and preparing it for mortar. After lunch they applied 8-80lb bags of mortar to the top outside roof area of the grotto. Sister Susan and Al help this group. Today they are ahead of schedule and feel good about the progress.

The computer group had a slow start. We had only one person to help today, however, the computer lab has a new operating system so we were able to use our time in the morning to learn how to manuever around in it.

The group working on the horses, sanded, primed and put the first coat of paint on them.
