Pine Ridge
LOG - Day 4
The wake up music played at 7:00 am today again, although a number of us were awake and or up already. Ben, Barb, and Nancy were up at the crack of dawn and on the road back to Fond du Lac. They plan to drive all the way today home– we wish them a safe trip. Nancy went back with them because Neal and Ellen will not know until close to mid-day if their van will be ready today.
Bob, Judy, and Ruth went to OLL – Porcupine so Ruth could do touch up painting on the horses from last year and Judy could take pictures of the finished project. Bud, Ellen and Neal were back at the campus and Carol and Mary will pick up Ruth from OLL and go to the school at Manderson to help in the Library.
It was a good thing Nancy went with Ben and Barb because Neal and Ellen are not able to pick up their van today. The transmission did not arrive at the repair shop this morning so the van will not be done today. They did receive it before afternoon, so they say they have started to work on reinstalling it. It should be done by tomorrow afternoon.
We had a group lunch at the college center today with Karen White Butterfly, and a couple of women attending a drum making workshop at the center. There was some discussion with them about ways our group could be of help in the area. Ellen and Neal liked the flute music we wake up to so they drove to Kyle later this afternoon to purchase two of the CD's. Bud went with Carol after lunch and took one more of the computers from Ron Hammer to the Wounded Knee school. They had expressed an interest in it.
David had another good day at the hospital.
It felt kind of strange not to have all of our group at the center this evening, as though we were missing a part of the whole. There is a certain amount of bonding that goes on during the week so we miss people when they are not with us.
