Fond du Lac to Oacoma, SD (Chamberlain)
LOG - 1st day Westward
Our trip out was uneventful except for the rain showers that seemed to follow us. It was nice in that the rain cleaned the bugs off of the windshield. It seemed as though it would stop just in time for our stops for a rest break and stretch. Ellen and Nancy voted to take a side trip in Mitchell to the corn palace (as seen on the TODAY show ) It is a community center where the community creates murals by attaching grains and seeds to the outside of the building. The birds love the artwork. Neal, Ellen and Nancy were the last to arrive at the motel but we were in time to join the rest for supper. The Derby Cafe in Chamberlain was the groups choice and a good choice it was! If anyone asks you, “where's the beef” tell them it is in South Dakota and it is very good. Everyone was pretty tired from the trip, so we called it a day.
